"A Traditional Christmas" at Wye Church, Kent

A collaboration of performers from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London), the Royal College of Music (London), and the Norton Knatchbull Grammar School (Ashford, Kent)

Featuring the use of baroque natural trumpets and modern piccolo trumpets in the Purcell Trumpet Sonata and the Vivaldi Double Trumpet Concerto, this concert has been designed as a chronological display of festive music with arrangements of Praetorius, Bach, and Britten for brass. The aim being to rekindle forgotten festive songs and bring them to life, the concert also shows off the talent of young brass players emerging in Kent and the South-east at the moment, with local soloist Tom Bennett playing the soprano saxophone with brass nonet arrangement of "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear".
